William F. Bauer is a shareholder in the firm. He is a 1973 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and received his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1977. He has practiced in Madison since 1978. Bill is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Wisconsin, as well as the United States Seventh Judicial Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is a member of the American, Wisconsin and Dane County Bar Associations, and currently serves as a member of the District Nine Investigative Committee for the Wisconsin Supreme Court's Office of Lawyer Regulation.
Mr. Bauer's practice is exclusively civil litigation, with emphasis in the areas of the defense of medical malpractice claims, product liability claims, personal injury, insurance, and commercial litigation. Through its confidential review process conducted among the legal profession in Wisconsin, Martindale-Hubbell has awarded Mr. Bauer an AV rating, its highest.
Bill lives in Fitchburg with his wife Susan and their two children. In addition to his law practice and family life Bill devotes himself to sailing as much as possible. This includes small boat racing, cruising and ice boat racing. Bill is a former commodore of the Mendota Yacht Club and the M-20 National Sailing Association. He has also been active in a number of youth sporting organizations, and has served in several capacities on the board of the Southwest Youth Hockey Association. He is currently a member of the board of Ice, Inc., a non-profit corporation that operates the Eagles Nest Ice Arena in Verona.
